A few things that you should consider before getting your full back tattoo are:

• Do research on your tattoo artist. You will be spending lots of time together, so make sure you like each other. Make sure you are comfortable wiht their skill, they have lots of room to cover. For a tattoo artist, the back is considered prime real estate so most likely they will jump at the chance.
• Set time out in advance and know how much time time it will take to get your tattoo finished and competed. Remember, larger tattoos take longer to complete. It will take many sessions to finish a full back tattoo design - the length of each session will depend on how long you can withstand the needle, and how long the tattoo artist can work at one time
• remember - larger tattoos cost more money. A back is a very larger area.

If you don’t plan ahead and keep adding tattoos to your back without thinking about it, it can end up looking junky and cheap. Ideas to avoid - try limiting the colors so that there is cohesion. Make sure you match the style of your tattoos. Try to make sure your proportions make sense too to your images - don’t make a small flower the same size as a godzilla. Unless you are going for a non-cohesive style…but few people can really carry taht off.

Remember tattoos are for life. So take your time and do some research.  Try doing a henna tattoo of your tattoo pattern and see how you like it on your back. For women especially this is a great idea. See if you are comfortable with teh attention.
