Tongue Tattoo
Tongue tattoos are hot and becoming more and more popular. You may not have heard about them, as tongue tattoos are just now starting to take shape. It’s another trend coming up from Los Angeles - the cool spot for tattoos.
For those seeking out cool tattoos getting the tongue tattooed might be too much. Circus carny and graphic designer Curtis McMurty is the person credited with developing a specially patented Tongue-Dyed Tattoo™ technology.
They are just like regular tattoos but they cover your tongue. There are tattoos that cover the entire tongue, or just a single area. You can have one colour tongue tattoo, or many coloured tongue tattoos.
You can tattoo anything on your tongue - though you do have a limited size to deal with. Stars are popular with the lower area of the tongue, near the tip. You can also put designs farther back on the tongue, near the middle of it.
Getting a tongue tattoo is very similar to getting a tattoo on any other part of your body. Getting a tattoo involves puncturing the skin, and depositing ink into the epidermis. The tongue is a muscle but just like the skin, it will swallow the pigments once the surface has been punctured by the needle.
Just like a tattoo - once the pigments of ink are absorbed by the tongue, the color will remain there forever. They resemble other designs and styles, although they cover the muscle known as the tongue.
Those who have had tongue tattoos in the past say that they aren’t very painful. Unlike tattoos on the skin, getting a tattoo on the tongue is often described as a tickling sensation or the numbness in your mouth.
When getting your tongue tattooed, the the tattoo artist will normally use a tool to hold the tongue out. Once the tongue is out, the artist will begin work. The process normally does take very long, as long you hold still and don’t move around.
If a tongue tattoo sounds interesting to you, make sure the first thing to do is find a tattoo artist in your area who is experienced with doing them. Not a lot of tattoo artists are familiar with tongue tattoos yet - this is because they are just now beginning to surface.
A tongue tattoo is a bit on the wild side - something that you just don’t see in public everyday. It also might be considered a jobstopper - that is the word given to tattoos which are very visible - on the face, head, hands, and neck.
